Let’s Move Again Program was launched in 2012 to promote healthy lifestyles and physical activities. Through this initiative, Community Health Workers, funded by Tulane University, coordinate exercise workshops weekly for over 50 seniors (ages 55 and older). Recently, NOELA and VIET partnered to provide structured exercise routines on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 8:45AM – 10:30AM. In addition, the program also provides nutritional and health workshops and field trips.
As part of the program, Community Health Workers also provide physical activities with children in the afterschool and summer programs. This intiaitive is to fight against childhood obesity and to promote physical exercise.
As part of the program, VIET also implemented a Fruit Forest where 50 fruit trees have been planted to create access to nutritional fruits.
