Programs
At the Vietnamese Initiative in Economic Training, our main focus is getting things done. We understand that doing our best relies on having strong plans and working closely with the correct partners. We aim to create strong connections and support programs that push our mission forward. Focus On What We Do Best

FAMILY FIRST
The Family First Program partners directly with families to provide guidance, resources, and hands-on support every step of the way. Its mission is to enhance family social mobility, particularly for non-English speaking households, by removing barriers and connecting them to critical services. Through this program, families can access a wide range of assistance including VITA Free Tax Filing, Social Security benefits, citizenship applications, interpreting and translation services, SNAP, Medicaid, and many other supports tailored to their unique needs.
ADVOCACY
The Violence Prevention and Advocacy Program takes a holistic approach to strengthening community resilience by providing advocacy, outreach, education, and cultural competency training for both community members and service providers. Beyond addressing domestic violence, the program expands its scope to include awareness and preparedness for natural disasters and other urgent safety concerns impacting vulnerable families. Our team works closely with individuals and survivors to help them navigate complex legal processes, while also connecting them with supportive services, resources, and preventative education. By combining advocacy with culturally responsive outreach, the program empowers communities to address violence, crisis, and emergencies with knowledge, confidence, and support.

LET'S MOVE AGAIN
Launched in 2012, the Healthy Living Program was created to encourage active lifestyles and support overall well-being in the community. Through this initiative, Community Health Workers lead weekly exercise sessions along with nutrition and health education workshops designed for residents of all ages. Special attention is given to engaging the "young at heart"—community members ages 50 and older—who are invited to join free classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30–9:30 a.m. The program not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters social connection and long-term healthy habits.
